CCC Leadership Team

Cascade Covenant Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will at our church.

The Leadership Team (LT) serves to give overall leadership and direction for our church. This team is typically made up of 8-10 people who meet regularly and are elected by our congregation, serving up to 4 years before rolling off the team. The CCC Lead Pastor also serves on this team.

The role of the Leadership Team is to promote our mission and vision, protect the unity of our church, and provide support to staff.

This team is not engaged in daily operations of the staff and leaders, rather they look after the bigger picture and strive to support the staff and volunteer leaders. Each year the LT will develop a recommended annual budget and present this to the congregation for approval. The LT also oversees the financial life of the church.

For general LT email send to LT@cascadecov.com

Our family started attending CCC in 1999.  Lynne and I have been married for 36 years and have 4 children.  Our youngest is 22 and our oldest daughter, Bekah, and our oldest son, Carl are both studying to be pastors.  I work as a professor at Seattle Pacific University and spend my free time hiking the trails around the Snoqualmie Valley.

During my time at CCC I have served attended small groups, men’s retreat, Bible studies and community groups.  I have served on the Tech team, have taught adult Sunday school and have served on the leadership team.  I look forward to serving again with the leadership team.

Family: Janet and myself

How long have you attended CCC? Have attended CCC for about 18 years.

Where did you grow up? Grew up in Southwest Ohio.

What do you do (or did you do) for a living? Now retired. Three careers. Army aviator flying helicopters, Real Estate Management and Commercial airplane pilot, Flight Instructor, Director of Flight Safety and flying Air Attack on Forest Fires.

What are your hobbies? I love to do wood working and landscaping.

Where do you serve at CCC / other groups and organizations? Have served at CCC as greeter coordinator. Presently serving as president of The Pacific Northwest Chapter of The Distinguished Flying Cross Society and will soon be returning to Vietnam on a Citizen Diplomacy Mission for Peace Trees Vietnam.

What are you listening to or reading right now? I'm presently reading about historical figures and culture of Vietnam as well as learning more about PTSD and its treatments.

What keeps you close to the Lord these days or how do you seem Him at work in your life? My spiritual connection is kept alive by prayer and talking to others who are also on active spiritual journeys. This constantly challenges me to understand what it means to live a Christian life.

Family: It's a little complicated but here's the short version...Carolyn and I have been married for 36 years, we have two daughters. I brought three children to our marriage for a grand total of five children. All are married and we have eight grandchildren.

How long have you attended CCC?: Since we moved to Fall City in 2001

Where do you serve at CCC / other groups and organizations? Carolyn and I started helping out in our children's ministry many years ago by registering children as they came in the front door, so geographically we haven't moved very far. Now, we hang out in our foyer before service to greet, check in, welcome newcomers and act as an unofficial information booth. Over the years, I have been involved in men's ministry at CCC and other organizations. I also volunteer as a cook in two non-profit kitchens.

What are your hobbies? Cooking, gardening, birding (very amateur).

What do you like to do on a Sunday afternoon? Go out for lunch, come home and watch some tennis, football etc.., take a nap, go for a walk.

How long have you attended CCC? I have attended CCC for 19 years

What are your hobbies? I have many hobbies, including gardening, quilting, pottery, knitting, crocheting, soap making and working with wood.

What do you do (or did you do) for a living? have been an ICU nurse for 37 years.

Where do you serve at CCC / other groups and organizations? Over the years at CCC, I have served in the nursery/Pre-K, on the hospitality team and with the Caring Cooks ministry. I have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) working with the Rest Stop team, and had the position of custodian at the church for approximately ?5 years.

What keeps you close to the Lord these days or how do you seem Him at work in your life? Gardening is one of the ways that I feel very close to the Lord. Working in His Creation allows me an easy way to see Him and provides an opportunity to spend time communing with God. I see the Lord at work in my life through all of the amazing people that He has blessed me with, from friends and family. The support that I have felt for my family over the past 5 years, in particular, from our church family is immense. They have walked with us through an incredibly difficult time and continue to be there for all of us. Additionally, He has allowed me opportunities to support many others at difficult times in their lives as well, sharing how His love has impacted my life.

Family: Met Valerie in high school 1979, married 38 years.  I have an adult daughter Tessa in Chicago (but still a loyal Packers fan), and another adult daughter, April, in San Diego, adult son, Charles, in North Bend.  All my kids were born in Wisconsin where we became Packer fans and attended Elmbrook Church where Stuart Briscoe was our pastor.

We started attending CCC online.  In July of 2021 my Mom passed away with us by her and we held the celebration of her life in the fireside room with the help of Danny Kolke.

What are your hobbies? My hobbies are sailing, biking, home mechanic, racing, and hiking. Just to be clear, we are spectators at Formula E.

What do you do (or did you do) for a living? I am the VP of R&D for Siemens Healthineers Ultrasound Systems with offices in Issaquah and groups in Palo Alto, Seoul, Bangalore, and Slovakia.

Where do you serve at CCC / other groups and organizations? Serve on the Tech Team at CCC.

Family: I’ve been married to my husband, Jeff, for 20 years, and we are blessed with a daughter, Abigail, who will be entering her senior year of high school this fall. I am the youngest of five siblings, all of whom still reside near our hometown in Kansas.

How long have you attended CCC? Our family has been part of the CCC community for nearly eight years.

What are your hobbies? In my free time, I enjoy reading, digital scrapbooking, and baking.

What do you do (or did you do) for a living? I work in Accounting and Finance at Textron Aviation.

Where do you serve at CCC / other groups and organizations? Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving at CCC in various capacities, including co-hosting a community group and acting as a neighborhood touchpoint during the online-only period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, I serve in the nursery and assist Jeff in coordinating our potluck lunches. Beyond CCC, I serve as the Treasurer for VOICE, the booster organization supporting the Mt. Si Choir program, in which Abigail is actively involved.

What keeps you close to the Lord these days or how do you seem Him at work in your life? Lately, I’ve seen the Lord working in my life most clearly through my relationships—both in deepening existing connections and forming new ones. I’ve also experienced a growing sense of peace in situations beyond my control, learning to trust more fully in His guidance and timing.
