"Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity..." (Hebrews 6:1)

When we step onto the path of following Jesus we enter a lifelong journey of discovering who God is, His will and purpose for our life and this world, and what it means to be truly fully alive.  It's an incredible journey!  Here at CCC, there are a variety of ways we encourage spiritual growth.  For our adults, one of the best growth opportunities in The Journey.

The Journey is an offering of courses that occur throughout the year that will equip people with tools to grow in their knowledge and application of who God is.  There are three main "tracks" that individuals can choose courses from (and a person can jump between tracks too).  These courses will occur 3 times a year in 6-week sessions at CCC.

3 Different Tracks

Experiencing Transformation

Becoming a person of...

The Bible:
66 books of incredible truth...but sometimes confusing.  What's the best way of getting into the Bible?  How do I navigate my way through it.  This course will offer helpful guidance in understanding why we look to the Bible as Truth and how we can get into it and dig deeper.

Prayer:
You can talk to God...directly.  Did you know that?  But how?  This course will look into the incredible reality and intimate invitation to communicate with God through prayer, offering insights on different approaches to praying.

Worship:
Worship is so much more than just the songs we sing on Sunday mornings.  In this course, we will be exploring how worship is a lifestyle offering practical throughts on what this can look like in our daily lives.

Mission:
You have a mission.  God has a mission.  How do these two relate and what does it mean for the world we live in?  We will explore this question, as well as take a look at the history of world missions and what is going on today.

Generosity:
How easy is it to compare, crave, compete and covet? VERY! Could it be that generosity is the key to unlocking the doors that lead to freedom, contentment, faith and fulfillment? God is a generous God who calls his people to give in many different ways. This course will understand the power and role of generosity as a central piece to experiencing the life God has for us.

Witness:
The call to share our faith with others can be extremely intimidating.  Yet we are indeed called to be a witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This course will offer practical advise and tools on how we can share our faith in our day to day lives.

Service:
You have a calling…. from the God who created you! Service is in the center of this calling and part of the lifestyle of love God wants for you. Embracing God’s calling involves living beyond myself while participating in his mission and movement in the world. This course will help you find your calling and your place in God’s strategic plan.

Integrity:
God calls us to be holy and to live with obedience. But what do I do with the gap between my life and this vision? How can I change and grow in new ways while becoming free from past and present sins, habits and problematic patterns? This course will help you re-imagine the way God can bring transformation into your life in big, small, deep and authentic ways.

Love:
Everyone wants and needs to give and receive love. How do we do this? What is God’s vision for our relationships and how can he empower us to engage in positive, meaningful, deep and loving friendships? This course could be called “Relationships 101” as we learn how to love.

Peace:
Throughout the Old Testament God invites his people to experience his “Shalom”. Jesus promises a unique peace that comes from him. We all long for peace and contentment in our hearts. This course will help us access the peace of God we all want and need.

Grace:
The scriptures teach us that we are not only saved by grace but that we live by grace. What does it look like to be transformed by grace in such a way that our life is characterized by grace? How can I receive grace, live in grace and share grace? This course will help us experience God’s grace in new and life giving ways.

Solitude & Sabbath:
In this world that is so busy, it sometimes seems impossible to imagine finding moments of solitude and rest...much less finding those with God.  This course will explore the Biblical calling and spiritual disciplines of taking Sabbath rest and finding solitude with God.
