Serving at CCC

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” (I Peter 4:19)

Why the focus on serving?
We serve because it is part of our calling to live beyond ourselves. Our team approach to ministry affirms the reality that God gifts and calls everyone to serve in some way. As people serve, their faith grows, relationships are enriched and our ministry together is blessed.

Who serves at CCC?
Most of the people who attend CCC serve in some way. We don’t expect anyone to do everything. We do encourage everyone to do something. We want people serving in a way that brings joy into their life and flows from a genuine sense of God leading them into a specific area of ministry.

When do newcomers begin to serve?
For newcomers there is no pressure to immediately begin serving. Some will begin serving quickly and for others it will take a long time. We do have a guideline for people to wait about 6 months before taking on any key leadership role. It is important to clarify a sense of commitment to the church itself before taking on a commitment to leadership in a specific ministry, and this takes time.

How does Ministry Happen?
It takes people! It takes time! It takes work!

And most importantly, it takes God working in and through his people! We trust God as we serve him. We pray each step of the way in all we do. In the body of Christ everyone is gifted and needed. Our ministry is driven by the 100’s of hours of volunteer time given each week.

I think I may be led to start a new ministry, what do I do?
Share your idea with one of our current ministry leaders or staff. We want to be creative and open to the new idea! New ministries need to have a leader and be coordinated with the overall ministry of CCC.
